Air filter kits
Hey guys -
I've recently purchased V & H pipes for my '06 Classic but I'm wondering about the air filter kit. Someone recently told me that the Ness Stage I Big Sucker was the ONLY way to go and still someone else said the K & N kit (RK 3909) was fine and worked well with the stock cover. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Ness BS!!!
But you'll also need a Fuel Management System if ya do it...
Depending how much more your going to do... I would recommend V&H FuelPak Price is right and USER FRIENDLY!

Yep! Ness Big Sucker. I bought mine here. http://www.cyclespot.com/discount-ha...ArlenNess.html
ORIGINAL: blueflame
Thanks a million for the link! I've got the V & H fuel pak for those very reasons. Appreciate the help.

Buy the kit that has the outercover for the exposed elementin it because it's a really good deal. Just the AC and back plate cost me $110.00 for my MM setup. I really wanted the exposed element cover but that's another $110.00 from Arlen Ness.

if you don't mind doing a little work, you can build your own se air cleaner kit with a genuine k&n filter for about the same price as the ness bs. heres the parts list:

IMHO the design of the AN BS backing plate is better than the SE AC(I have them both). thedesign of the breather on the AN helps also if you have an oil misting problem that is common with HDs. If you do get aBS,get the chrome backing plate (of course!!)
I bought the SEAC without knowing any better. Just today I put the k & n element in it and left the cover off. I will get a cover for the outer edge tomorrow. If I had gone with the AN BS, I would already have the chrome bracket. I didn't, so will add it at a later time. The wife cut me off from buying parts, but the filter and oil for the 5k service was a fathers day gift. I have to start my Christmas list early. Hopefully, the wifes panties will become unbunched and I can start buying again, SOON.[:@]
