I wanted something like the cruise arms but not in chrome. Someone here posted the site for these guy's and I ordered them. I'm really back and forth about them now that I have them installed. I think they kinda make the bike look a little goofy ... I dunno. I'll tell you one thing though, they ARE comfy as hell !! Just being able to prop the front end of your foot up a bit while leaving your heel on the floorborad is awesome !!
They look OK from above and also from the side, but the front shot ( I think ) makes the bike look too wide at the bottom. I dunno ... maybe it's just me. Lemme know what you guy's think, and don't be shy about being honest, that's what I'm looking for.
Here ya go ...
Before
This is what the kit looks like when you get it
Here's how they install
Here it is all done. I tried the skinnier passenger pegs and I think they looked worse. Lemme know
They don't look too bad to me. Of course it is better looking to have nothing like that on your bike, but sometimes you've got to sacrifice just a little for comfort. I ordered these too because I didn't want the chrome attracting attention to them like the Cruise Arms. Unfortunately, I tried to install them yesterday andthey won'tfit my floorboards. I'm bummed about that. So I guess I either have to buy a different set of boards or else return these and buy Cruise Arms. It said on their site that it wouldn't fit a Deluxe but when I emailed them, they said that it would just be a tight fit. There is nowhere to mount the bolt that is on the outer side so it doesn't work.
The look isn't for me. BUT... I put a Lindby bar on my Springer Classic for comfort. I still am not convinced about the look meshing, but it's a win for the comfort, in my opinion.
So, I say if it feels much more comfortable for you and you're on the fence about it, lean toward comfort.
I agree with what wildwill said about some custom pegs. They'd probably look nicer than the stock rubber looking ones. Maybe some banded billet ones or something.
Ahhh... mods... such a neverending endeavor. [sm=smokin.gif]
