I've looked around to see if I could find information on this, and so far I haven't. So if it's been talked about before, I apologize. But is there a certain protocol for applying patches and pins to a vest? I would like to get mine and my husbands patches sewn on, but I don't want to put them in places they shouldn't be. I have a HOG, PGR, LOH and a couple others. Thanks for helping!
I don't have a "HOG" vest,...I've got some hog pins and patches on it,..but I aint real big into HOG. I've got patches all over my vest,.....no particular order,.....just try to get em on there some where. We get pins and patches from everywhere we go. State pins/patches.....rallys,......abate functions,........places we've travelled.........We don't follow any particular order in placement,....too many to try and do that with.
I might try to avoid putting state patches on the back,....Texas in particular.
Although I agree with you on the placement of the American flag on ones vest, I think I need to change one of mine, OOPS, where did this come from? where is it written or is it just something somebody decided on..understand I'm in full agreement with it, just curious is all. I also have a American flag with the word VET on it, perhaps that is wrong?? seems I also read that on here> have worn all my vest at one time or another to Veterans events and have had nothing said to me about it..Please enlighten me on this?
Putting anything above the US flag is sybolic of the US being subject to it.
The US flag goes on top to signify that it is the top dog, where your main allegence lies.
There are other reasons also.
And nothing should ever be added or subtracted from the flag IMHO.
I have the US flag on the bottom left of my vest on the pocket. While there is nothing directly above it (a few other patches further up on the vest), it is still at the bottom. I guess this is wrong.

Not really, it is okay.
As long as nothing is above it.
Look at the UN for example. All flags of all nations are exactly at the same hight. This represents how they are all equal.
