I know this has been covered more than once, but I put the detachable sissy bar kit on first waited a couple of weeks and then purchased the sissy bar. The sissy bar comes with 2 black braces. I know where the go, but can't figure out how they mount. I see how the rear mounts, but the front behind the shock has no nut to put on the back side. Does the strut just hang on the screw head. surely it does not go on top of the chrome piece.
Oh well, they are on now. Kinda like my hogleg, better to have it an not need it than to need it and not have it. I already had the bags off to clean the bike so it was a good time to put them on and make sure all the bolts I installed a month or so ago were still tight. Putting the braces on did line up the back brackets (the one with 4 holes in it).
Hey SIMCOM, I was told they weren't needed, but as you can tell by my instructions, I put them on. I looked at them as added support. Mine fit fine under the chrome strut cover.
