Default IDS Installed!

I had the IDS Sprocket Kit installed on a 07 Road Glide today. It worked great. It got rid of most of the transmission noise. I test drove it 50 miles from the dealer to home. A good share of the timeI wasusing the shifting points recommended in theowners manual (45 mph in 5th).The best rideI ever had in the 9500 miles that I put on it.Previously the only time it was this quiet was when it was cold.
This is a stock bike except for SERT. I have my own map with a maxed bias table and a lower timing advance in the low rpm rangeand MAP cells. This helped reduce the heat problem.
I very happy with this upgrade. Now if only HD would re-imburse me for my expenses.

Thanks RoadGlide for the report. What was the ambient temps. outside? Was the bike good and warmed up? I'm having my IDS installed soon.

Itwas in the 80's. Typically after about 10 minutes the bike is making racket on a day like this. This was about 70 minute test ride at various speeds. In my case the worst noise was at 2100 - 2200 rpms in 5th gear. That seems to be gone

I also just had the IDS installed today. Mine is an Ultra with 7000 miles that has clattered loud in 5th and 6th since new. At 75 MPH on cruise control in 6th I could not stand it. Like everyone else I tried different trans oils trying to quiet it down. Right now it has 75/140 Spectro in it.Now since the IDS I can't make it clatter at any speed or RPM. I lugged it down to 45 in 6th and the trans. was quiet. Every one hashad theories as to the cause, I always felt it was an inadequate new compensator design letting engine pulses in the transmission causing the loose fitting shifter dogs to clatter in the shift pockets, not really a wear issue but a unacceptable and obnoxious noise issue. So now I feel that the noise is gone so the bike is fixed.
I don,t know if the gear oil is contributing to my good results or not but I will keep using it anyway.
I hope everyone that tries the IDShas as good an out come as I

RCR , DID THE IDS DO ANYTHING FOR THE 5TH GEAR WHINE? I NEVER HAD THE CLATTER OR NEVER NOTICED IT BUT DO HAVE THE WHINE. I JUST SWITCHED OUT THE FORMUL+ IN THE TRANNY AND PUT ROYAL PURPLE 75/140 IN IT AND ITS MUCH BETTER. I MIGHT TRY ONE LATER DOWN THE ROAD IF IT HELPS THE 5TH WHINE ANY/

THANKS

Sorry but it did nothing for the whine, but mine was not that bad. The 75/140 did more for the whine than anything.
The ride feels about the same, maybe shifts a little smoother, but just having the noise gone is making it feel like a brand new bike

I'll take a whine anyday, over the damn chatter. Did you also have alot of driveline slop or banging, if you rolled the throttle on and off. If so, is that gone too? Glad to here there may be hope for us, Too bad we can't get Hardly Ablesonto pay for it.
