"old-school" chopper - what's it worth?
This is a new-built custom chopper. It is an "old-school" chopper (Hate to use that term as it is over-used, but it does fit the bike) with a new Panhead, kick-start, etc...
Here is a short list of what was used:
STD Pan/Shovel Cases w/ all S&S internals
S&S Carb
Revtech 4-Speed (Kick only)
Midwest Custom Frame
Paucho Pipes
L.A Chopper Z-Bars
Front and Rear Disc Brakes
Belt Drive
La Para Seat
Coffin Tank
Forward Controls
Side-mount plate/light
Electronic Ignition system (Front generator is empty)
Bike starts on 2-3 kicks and runs very strong. Bike has not been titled/registered yet, but I have all needed paperwork from the SOS and the MSO's for the motor, trans and frame (All numbers match paperwork). It will be titled as a 2007 (Or 2008...depends on when you would do the paperwork) with an assembly title. It has all components to pass inspection (Horn, lights, ect). I have the paperwork in hand to register, but the bike has become a bit unpractical for me so I thought I would look for something new before getting it titled (Give someone the chance to have the first title!). Bike was built at local bike shopby professional builder (Not a garage build!).

I am not a fan of these bikes unless the VIN is a Panhead Vin on the motor and in the orginal frame.I would never buy a assembled part title. This bike is not a Harley. These people always seem to want way to much for these bikes. I guess it is worth what someone will pay.
without a title the bike is only worth swap meet prices and that is only true as long as parts havent changed hands too often.Get the bike titled and set your price, many are into the chopper scene and you should be able to sell it.
There's no bluebook on custom builds. As described, the bike has some expensive goodies and the builder certainly wants to get their money out of it. Just as a guess I'd say they probably have $16-18K in it at retail pricing, $12K with their discounts if it is a shop. If it's the perfect bike for you, you need to try for the best price you can negotiate. If it's still available 6 months from now the price may be better. I built my Evo chopper originally to sell, no one was interested in a basic "old school" bike back in '95. After a year of showing and a few tropys I said "f#ck it" and decided to keep it. It was my idea of the perfect chopper and I'm quite happy having made that decision. Maybe it was too much of my personality designed in, and no one else shared my vision at the price I would have required to let it go. Sorry, there is no concrete answer to your question.
