I know a lot of you have been waiting for this post. Well, here it is. Several of us came up with an idea of having a weekend rally in Florida for the members. I know this will directly affect our Florida members, but all members/friends are welcome to attend. Here is the idea.
Myself, Alias, Wideglide95th and several others (please don't get mad if I left anyone out on this list) thought it would be great to have a weekend rally in the middle of the state. We all liked the idea of Ocala. There is some great riding and it is a central location for most of our members. We were thinking of later November or early December. Times are subject to change due to availability. The plan is to have members ride in on Friday, stay Friday and Saturday night, and leave Sunday. We have been discussing several options of entertainment and rides.
We are planning on staying at a campground somewhere in Ocala. We want it to be a location where you can camp outbut members can stillbring their RVs if they have one. We were talking about a band, but I don't think the campground will allow us to havea band. Maybe we could talk to a local club like Moose lodge, Elks, etc to see if they would allow us to have it there. I would like to have some fun things to do. I thought of slow races, beauty contest, etc...... I just don't want this Rally to get so big that it never happens. Do remember, the bigger it gets the harder to find a location and harder to plan.
At this time, We are open to any suggestions.I don't care if we just meet up Friday night, get up Saturday and do a large ride around the area, party Saturday night, and everyone leave Sundaymorning. I have received a PM from a member who lives in Ocala. He has a great idea for a ride. I would rather have a small rally than not have one at all. I really want this to happen, but it will take the help of you as members. I will be posting a link to this from other areas. If you have any ideas, please post them or send me a PM. Lets make this happen.
I like the campground idea... we may not be able to have a band.. per se.. but that doesn't mean those that play couldn't strap an acoustic to the bike and bring it along! Maybe even a harmonica or two~ After a few brews, we'll have all the band we need!
I'm in....by the way, there are a few bars with outdoor party areas right adjacent to the Forest that allow bands and have pretty nice setups for parties. Been to a couple Hummer events there where they bring in bands and catered barbeque.
