Default 3.37 Gearing on a '07 Ultra

Ive been thinking about changing my primary gearing to 3.37 using a 37-tooth clutch hub (37846-99A) and a 24-tooth compensating sprocket (40269-85A).

Has anyone done this yet to their '07, and will the above part numbers work okay in this '07 model year?
Has it helped starting out in first gear? I run two-up most of the time and first is a little tall for me.

Thanks for the link. Its one I've already read, but didn't see where anyone had done the primary gear changes on a '07. I guess I'll be the guinea pig and try it!

The andrews site says no, it says 06 dyna and 07 touring 6 speeds use different pulleys from the 06 and back.. The only options for a 07 is a 30 tooth, 32 (stock) and 34 clutch hub. So you will need to come up with a different solution.

Gunrunner,

What I am (was) planning to do was change out the compensating sprocket (stock 25-tooth) with a 24-tooth sprocket, and change the clutch hub (stock 36-tooth) with a 37-tooth sprocket. Are you confusing the primary gearing with the final drive pulleys? If so, maybe the projects back on...

HotBike Baggers{ Oct. 07}, had an article about this very thing. a company by the name of Evolution Industries of Walnut, Ca.They have a kit that consists of a 30tooth sprocket and a 84P primary chain kit for baggers {PN EV-3084, MSRP $350}They claim it really wakes the 07 baggers up. They're phone number is 909-594-7969 web. address www.evoindusa.com. Let me know how it works.Ride Safe.

It still will not work, parts including clutch hub and comp are different, you can as the a wildman said above use the evelution industries setup which will give you 9% lower gearing than stock. The trade off is it does away with the compensator, this can give driveline jerks at luuging speeds. Here it is, click the picture and it lists the gear and related rpm, looks like it boosts 6th gear from 2500 rpm at 70 (least thats what mines is) to 3250 rpm. See it here;

Thanks for all your input. I thought that this project was going too well to work. I think I'll set it on the back burner for now.

Guess you got the idea, your plan won't work. I wouldn't to the 30 toothprimary sprocket either. Geared a little to low imho and no compensator.
I'd hang in there a while and see if someone comes up with a better fix.
My opinion is that the gearing in 07s and 08s is a bit high but you sort of get used to it.
