Default HD Garage door opener help

Ok, so I got it all hooked up and went to program the opener. It receive the signal, but then it just clicks when I activate it and he door doesn't move. I the put the fairing on to see if it's any different with the headlight plugged in. It doesn't even get the signal or it won't send it.

Any ideas?

The door opener works with the cars and from the wall signal

Thanks

I'll try to help, but not knowing what kind of door opener you have it's a little difficult. I have Chamberlain openers and they require you to sychronize the opener to the remote. Easy to do. Just push a button on the opener and then hit the remote and it memorizes the new remote signal, and keeps the old ones. Best thing for you is to read your door opener manual and it will tell you how to add remotes. Older ones adapted the motor to the remote, and newer ones adapt the remote to the motor. Hope this helps.

I installed one on my RG a few months back. The first problem that I had was wiring it to the correct terminals on the garage door opener. I thought I knew what I was doing when I made the connections, but with the rats nest of wires from the opener button on the wall and the two light beam boxes, I picked the wrong set of terminals to connect the H-D opener. Once I had that corrected, life was good.

If you are getting a click or blink of the pilot light on the receiver box, you might put a Volt-Ohm meter on the leads going to the door opener to see if the box is in fact putting out a change inresistance.

I've hooked mine up, I'd guess you need to use the other terminals on the motor. Mine has four terminals. I used the same ones the remote door opener uses. The first two. Hope that helps. [/align]

Not sure about yours. I bought mine from Electrical Connection and it couldn't have been easier to install. And it works great....$79

Could be the garage opener is too old. Some of the older openers have an amber light when you push the code learn button. Those are the older models and are not compatible with the newer, green lighted transmitters... dunno just a guess as I don't have the HD one or how it's hooked up.
