Narrow the front of the seat so that a shorter rider can reach the ground. Easy fix, cost $0.00 just an hours time.

Did this on the wifes Deluxe. Seat still appears to be stock, but the front half is 1 1/2" narrower. It allows her to stop flatfooted.

I've got a bunch of low-buck mods on my bike. I actually prefer people who use originality and resourcefulness over their credit card when doing up their bike.

Replacing the stock screw on the fender that holds down the seat with one that can be turned by hand. Harley sells them for $15. Even if you don't change your seat often, it's a good way to have a place to store your registration in a zip loc bag.

Replace the crappy cad plated Torx bolts in the fender struts with polished SS acorn nuts?

Use some SS treaded rod, I used SS carrage bolts and cut the threaded section to lengths needed. Jam acorn nuts on the ends with some JB Weld so they don't come apart. I would have used a stainless steel pin through the nut and rod but couldn't find any, and the JB seems to do the job well enough anyway.

Stock Torx bolts in strut.

The parts you need.

And the finished product.

I think they look a lot better, you can remove them a lot easier than the soft Torx headed bolts andI don't have to worry about them rusting.

I wanted a solo seat so i took off my seat and took the vinyl off and started hacking a the foam with a hack saw blade then sanded it till it was smooth now i have the lowest and farthest back softais solo seat for an 06 07 or 08 softail available. Anyone intrested let me know willing to make more to occupy my time. I enjoyed the process will post pics later tonight. My mechanic said he loves low bike and he said this is the lowest 06 or later softail he has ever sat on it feels like hes sittin on the ground. Haha. Kustomizing is easy. Just find Kesterholt Kustoms. We do paint and anything under the sun you can think of if there is a will there is a way. My dad does work on any bike. We both do stuff in our spair time. Just a father and son combo extremely interested in motorcycles.

Right now im working on Making mycustom kit like the "heartland biker kit". Only mine wont Cost 2000 dollars and mine with be real custom. It may become for sale if anyone is intrested after i get things mocked up. I will keep everyone posted on how the progress is coming.

Ryan.
