Yeah, I know, too much time on my hands
I work for a very large privately owned restaurant chain here in Houston as a service tech. We make almost everything in our kitchens "in house" and it is all in stainless steel. All of the small scrap take-off pieces go home with me, instead of in the dumpsters. I use these scraps to make things for my scoot.
So far I have made the inspection sticker bracket, the brake and shifter pegs, the kickstand extension, the thumb set for the throttle lock, a small document tube, inserts for the calipers, and two Budweiser shifter links (made from Budweiser tap handles), the trim for my electrical panel cover, a bracket to mount my oil pressure guage, a swing-out hidden bottle opener, and several items that I have changed and/or put on and then removed, like a really nice side mount license plate bracket and a speedometer bracket when I had the stock speedo mounted on my T-bars. I make all of this stuff out of stainless, and then polish it to a high mirror finish.
First off I enjoy doing it. Like riding, it is therapy. Second, I like to go places and have something, nomatter how inexpensive, or how trivial, that nobody else has. A "one-off" thing.
Being Winter, I have some extra time so now I am doing really ridiculous things because I have run out of things to do.
Here is something that I made that I saw at one of the Rallys. They make it for the soft-tails, but not for the Dynas, so I made one myself. It is not something that everyone will see, but I know it is there, and so does the wrench that changes my oil.
How do you like my new dipstick. The two holes are the "full" and "add" marks. This is a sharp dipstick - very very sharp
Everybody that knows me, says that I have too much time on my hands and/or I need to get a life.
Maybe they're right.

Clutch - that's awsome! I know if I had one, I'd cut my friggin finger off the first time I checked my oil. Nice work. Not too much time - you got to do something to pass the time.

OSP1340 - I really don't make things for others, but I'll be very happy to tell/show you how to do it for free.
All of these things are not as complicated as they sound, just a lot of thought and a little work.
Thre hardest thing I made was the Budweiser shifter links that are now on "Bud Bike One" and "Bud Bike Two" owned by Budweiser and touring around Texas. Those I made for me and sold to the Harley Stealer that built the bikes, for a very nice amount. Otherwise I wouldn't have sold them.
OPS1340.........or anyone else, if you want to know how to build it, I'll explain here if you ask.
Incidently, it cost me $12.00 and about an hour to make.

Damn guys, I am sorry..........I just gave away the side mount tag frame to another member here - ninetyzero - He needed one and I told him I give it to him if he paid the shipping. I made it for myself and then decided to put quick-detachable bags on for the old lady, so I went back to the rear fender mount.
I have pictures on my "flickr" site, listed below,of some of the things like the shifter and brake, and the tag mount and I think the document tube. I just may put some more of my hand made junk on there later tonite.
You have to remember my age is 66. When I started riding, there were no aftermarket sites. Anything we wanted, we had to make. I guess it just stuck on me.
