I have heard in my travels from a very reliable source that the MoCo is going to release and market a new Race tuner that self tunes like the T-Max in the next few months. This isnot a rumor but is developed and almost ready for release. Maybe they do read these forums......
Something like the pro tuner from HQ. Intresting.........wait and see if it true, not doubting you, but rumor is a rumor, and in the automotive field unless it is ready I'm a sceptic, just my nature.
It would seem MOCO would have to utilize it for future running of ultra lean engines. Maybe a ECU upgrade to incorporate that technology in the '09+. Fun, very fun times......
Sorry but your reliable source is wrong. There is a new SERT and it will be released during the Dealer Show in Texas going on as I type this post. It does not self tune....remember the SERT is only a tool that opens the ECM for modifications....the ECM would have to be new to self learn. The new SERT will have all the same tables and functions but it's being made from a different manufacture which means it will come with a new software format. Basically it is the same process but with a different way to access it. You still need us tuners......sorry!!!
Prob an add on to the SERT. Cant see them making the SERT obsolete
The SERT is obsolete with the advent of the Thundermax which does realtime auto-tuning as you drive the bike based on the ambient conditions. Supposedly this tuner works the same way but better.
So it autotunes and is epa compliant. Nah, I keep my Tmax. Ron
Oh yeah, I am with you on that one. The Tmax is street proven by many riders and I don't feel like being a guinea pig to a new tuner until they make a million of them. In fact I bought my Tmax today. But supposedly this new tuner is for the 07-08 and newer bikes.
