Apes on Street Bob are finally done!!
Finally completed the install of the 14" apes, I ran all the wires internally, relocated the front turn signals and installed braided clutch and throttle/idle cables.
Unfortunately I was in the process of installing a really cool skull blue dot in my taillight when I busted the lens, I didn't know you couldn't use a large bit at first...[:-]
Let me know what you think.
Still waiting on the forward controls and big shots, should be here by the end of the month.

Wow...I really like them! You think the local authorities will be giving you a hard time? I think someone around here (central Jersey) said that if the grips are higher than your shoulders, you're in violation. Of course, I've never actually seen it enforced.
Anyway...they look great man. The forwards are gonna make for a real comfortable ride.

Bad *** bro. If I was taller, or had longer arms ( i'm 5'4" ), i'd hook it up on mine as well. I know yours are 14", what are the stock bob mini apes, 10" ?? Maybe I could get something in the middle. Anyway, looks great...

Thanks for the responses here. You always want you bike to be appealing to yourself and others.

I'm really not sure on the shoulder height laws, I'll have to ask a friend of mine whos a Sergeant with the local sheriffs office. I do however have a couple of friends that run taller 16" bars and they've never had any problems, if so I'll just have to get the tall boy seat, I heard it's a little taller than stock.

The stock bars are 10", I reused the stock 2" risers. Someone has to make a set of 12's though if that's what you want.
About half way through this project I was having second thoughts, of course it was too late to turn back, but now after riding it today for about 90 miles I love them, they're actually very comfortable, I'm really surprised.

Thanx for getting back brother. I'll probably just stick with stock. $300 is alot to mess with, & i'm super comfy on the 10's. Plus, I found some super low seats on e'bay today at a great price ( like $225 ). Looks alot like the corbin hollywood. So i'm thinking ( with my tax money of course ), Pipes & A/C first, seat second, whats left over, maybe bars. I would just be happy if I could run all the wiring into the stock bars, that would be perfect for me to clean it up. Do you know if that is possible ?? Thanx again bro, much appreciated...

Hey chapds, I actually got the 14" bars instead of the taller 16's, despite them not having 14's with the capability of running internal wiring. To make a long story short..... You can do it to stock bars, my new bars weren't set up for it either but I modified them to work.
Just make sure the holes you drill are 1) clean and de burred so you get no scrapes in the wire, 2) ran in wire loom of some sort to help insulate and protect so you get no shorts.

I like them. A friend of mine has a Roadking with the same size bars. It looks really mean too. I've ridden it and it is very comfortable.
StreetBob,
Those Look fantastic! What brand are they? I bought a set of Wild 1 chubby apes for my wide glide but they were just to wide at the base, didn't look right to me. Took them back, so now I'm back to searchin'.
