Default handlebars for deuce

I am fixing to change out all my hand control components to the chrome verson and was thinking I may want to change out my bars also. I dont really care for the looks of the drag bars, most I see look to me like they come up way too high. I am happy with the feel of my bike with the stock ones but would like to get something in chrome and that will hide the wires for a clean look. The fat deuce bars from harley are pretty cool but you are looking at about $450. to get everything to convert over to them. Anyone have any suggestions on where else I can look?

Thanks

Try Wild Ones Handle Bars, their website has a lot of pictures of the bars on different bikes . They make great bars , show finish chrome with hidden wires and larger diameter. They are also less expensive than HD.

I did the SE Fat Deuce bars on my bike, and I think they offer the perfect fit. BIG BUCKS...
It was almost $450.00, plus five hours of labor to put them on. I wasn't going to mess with running those wires. Well worth every penny.
BTW, if you get the riser cover, you'll see a hole in it for the tach wire. I wanted the tach, so it wasn't a biggie for me.
total cost was almost $900.00 with the tach, oh, add another $600.00 for chrome handlebar goodies too.

There was a pic. of a deuce with the wild ones 504's and the short risers that looked pretty sick on the wild ones website. Any of you deuce owners have this combination?

Good question. I would like a change but am not sure what. I don't like the one-piece bar/riser pullbacks on the wild ones site.
Would some of the beach bar setups look like crap on the Deuce?

I have seen the following options in the Harley Catalog.

Chrome Handlebar for Softail® Deuce™ Models
Without sacrificing Softail Deuce styling, this chrome handlebar replaces the stock polished bar and brings the grips an inch and a half closer to the rider, providing a relaxed, comfortable riding posture.
56330-00 MSRP US $49.95
Fits '00-later FXSTD models. (Requires the separate purchase of Black Brake Line Kit P/N 45344-00 or Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit P/N 44815-00A.)

Narrow Beach Bar Handlebar

Original Equipment on the Screamin' EagleÂŽ Fat BoyÂŽ model, this beefy 1-1/4" handlebar sets the tone for a full-on custom ride. This chrome-plated fat bar combines the low rise and sweeping shape of a beach-style bar with a narrower tip-to-tip width for added rider comfort. Factory drilled to allow internal wiring for show-winning style.
56857-05 MSRP US $199.00
Fits '00-later FXST, FXSTB, FXSTD, FLSTF and FLSTC models. All models require separate purchase of Riser Kit P/N 56851-04 and additional installation components. Does not fit with Heated Hand Grips, Hydraulic Clutch Kits, Handlebar Mounted Gauges, Road Tech™ Radio, or Softail® Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96.

Still not sure. I guess I will have to ask the stealer. Most bikes are in hiding(storage) around here. Mine included.

I had Carlini 9", 1-1/2 diameter SuperSweeps on my Deuce. I had more people complement me on those bars than any other part of the bike. They were fantastic looking, and I ran the wiring myself...saved about $400 for installation. I am the LEAST mechanically inclined person in the world. It takes time, but is a well worth the effort.

I had to search for this one. Didn't want to start a new thread on an old topic.

Went to the Stealership over the weekend to check some stuff out. I am pretty set on the idea of putting Deluxe bars on my Deuce.
I was going back and forth sitting on them trying to imagine the feel. The risers are not the same Deuce is back further.

I have been checking out several sites and looking at the rise/pullback #'s. I think the deluxe bars will do the trick (I want to keep the stock deuce risers).
Basically I need them further back. I get a nasty burning at the base on my neck after riding a while.

Does anyone know where to find stock takeoffs online? ebay is not nice to me with searches.
I think I found the correct part # in the HD Catalog for new chrome bars only $50. Probably go that way.

Any feedback is welcomed.
