Default Super Slab vs. Twisties

Time for my once yearly meaningless poll:

Do you prefer riding the super slab/freeway/expressway or taking the twisties?

Me I'm a super slab guy. I prefer to get from Point A to Point B with as little drama or trauma as possible.

Used to ride ALOT of twisties back in the late 80's / early 90's in my sportsbikedays.

Now I find that the concentration level necessary and the opportunity to come upon a rock slide or pileup around the next blind bend detracts from my riding pleasure and is no longer much fun.

Now I much rather prefer getting on the freeway, hitting the cruise control, cranking up the tunes and flying along at 0 altitude with a clear view of the road ahead, my idea of an ideal ride.

And you?

Primo

P.S. I thougt to add "Any road that ends in a topless bar" as a third option in the poll but knew
it would win by a mile.

I cant say I like the twisties on either of my Harleys, but I dont like to ride the highway too much either. I guess you could say I like the secondary roads best.....you know 45-50 MPH country road type of thing..
The freeway aint that bad when your in a group of ten or twenty bikes though. It seems that people tend to cut you much more slack when there is more then one of you.

Depends on my mood. I like to just go sometimes. I live 3 miles from the Interstate 95 and when I am in the mood I will cruise to Flordia and back. Sometime I ride to Brunswick have lunch and take the back roads back. It is all decided by the road.

I prefer the twisties. My daily ride is perhaps the sweetest ride in southern Arizona. Catalina highway goes to the top of Mt. Lemon and is 27 miles long. In the winter I certainly don't go near the top but still enjoy the road. Also, I don't push it like I did in my younger days and even though it's twisties it's still laid back.

Without twisties...well, just wouldn't be worth it. Hate the superslab.

I like to get to the twisties as fast as possible so I'll take the freeway there.

I like em both. I usually take the hwy to work...then pick any number of back roads to go home. Somedays I pick the twisty ones some days just the old country straight roads. Took me 15 minutes to get to work this morning and 2 hours to get home. Was in the 70's today....

I'll always take the twisties unless I HAVE to be somewhere far away in a short period of time

I don't know what super slabs you have been riding but the ones that I end up on resemble the old Bumper Car or Dodgem cars in the Carnys. I prefer the secondary roads the US highway system and will go out of my way to get to US 60 from At least Eastern Mo Thru AZ. If you really half to go somewhere fast Don't take the super slabs through Houston, Atlanta Nashville, SanAntonio, etc, etc,

I prefer twisties or at least scenic routes; like 395 here in CA; or parts of 101 on the coast; or 178 to Lake Isabella (that's a little twisty), orHighway 49, etc. Blasting through at 75+ notthat fun. Nothing like riding up highway 1 near Big Sur, or Tioga Pass Yosemite on a bike!! Mountain and Canyon roads are the most fun. Glad I have Mulholland Drive and Highway in my backyard for a quick fix!
