At the risk of getting a different suggestion from everyone that has a different seat, I'll ask anyway. I picked up a stock StreetBob seat on here a few months back. It was basically brand new and pretty cheap so it was an easy way for me to try it out. Needless to say, I'm sold on the look and feel of the solo. So, now I'm looking to invest in something that's maybe a little slimmer, yet more comfortable if such a thing exists. On the other hand, I don't want to drop a lot of money on a seat either. So, don't bother suggesting I send mine off to be pulled apart and customized with gel or air bladders or whatever. This question is probably easiest answered by you FXD or FXDB riders who have replaced your stock seats with something else. I'm looking for something I can buy off the shelf, out of the box, and install that would give a nice look and more long ride comfort than the stock Streetbob seat. I'll look used first on ebay or whatever. If you suggest something and have a pic of it installed, please post it and also try to give me an idea why you like the seat better (eg. can ride longer, etc.)
I tried several replacement seats for my Bob and finally settled on a Mustang Vintage Solo. Later I added the 'Rear Seat' (pillion), mostly to aid in transporting stuff (not people).
Thanks. Checked them out. Prices are actually reasonable. I emailed them what I'm looking for - waiting to hear back. May be my best option since I not only want something a little more comfortable, but I am hoping they can do something to scoot me back a little bit as well.
I didn't see it in their pricing but will they recover it with leather or anything I want like that such as stitching?
I ruled out customizing because I thought it would be really expensive but they don't appear to be bad at all.
