Default LOWER FRONT FENDER

I had previously modified my front fender by drilling and grinding the rivets and reversing the mount to move the fender back a bit. When I switched to the SE tire the lower profile of the tire left too much space between the tire and fender.

So today I decided to lower it a bit. Got some quarter inch t-bolts,!/4x20 by half inch button head bolts, some nylon and rubber washers to make it easier for the bolt to conform to the inner fender curvature and went to work.

Drilled the mounting holes to five sixteenth to accept the t-bolts.

The t-bolts snug up pretty tight to the inner fender, coulda ground the bolt head off for a little more clearance if needed.

First mounted the fender with the upper bolt hole on the fender bracket mated to the lower hole on the slider but there wasn't enough clearance so I drilled a hole halfway between the two existing hole in the fender bracket and mated it to the lower hole on the slider. Only used one bolt but I did use a star washer on each side of the fender bracket so the fender won't rotate.Solid as a rock. Filled the upper hole with a chrome cap stuck into a spacer and glued into the upper hole.

While I was at it I finished the mount for the mustache bar. The upper bolt mounts to the horn bracket at the front of the frame which holds the bar in place good but will allow the bar to rotate if you put too much pressure on one side. The lower mount is off an fl so it didn't fit but I sawed it off to where it wedges between the frame horns to prevent the bar from moving up or down at the ends.

Turned out pretty decent for a shade-tree job.

good Luck

Tom

I think it looks great! I added the HD front fender extender just to keep the road crap off my frame and under carriage. You will get the same effect by what you did to the fender and gain looks in the bargain--great job!

These are two ideas I went with . The narrowed fender didnt get further than the tack weld stage the other is stock V Rod . Dynas and Rods sharing the same sliders. Note though this is with 16" wheel
