Default Street Bob Tachometer

Just wondering if anyone has installed a tach on the new Street Bob, Would like to install one on mine when it comes in(May) and would like to put some thing small on that would mount with the handlebar clamps. I am trying to keep it simple and not gaudy looking. If anyone has ideas or pics I would greatly appreciate it.

What are the benifits of having a tach, when you can listen to the engine? I have a new Bob and don't really see the need for one. But......to each his own.

StBobber - I'm surprised you didn't use your first pseudonym which is obviously Clark Kent if you can hear your engine at any speed above 35 mph. Maybe my german shorty helmet and no windshield prevents me from hearing motor but after 35 to 40 mph all I hear is wwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Edandhishd - if you don't mind my asking how much was the mini-tach setup after it was all paid and done? Did you or service dept. install it? Looks good, nice size windshield, too.

Personally, I find them very handy. I ride without helmet or windshield and can't hear jack, except a tornado in my ears and if I'm on the freeway, its an F5...

You guys realize that the wind noise is going to eventually cause a degree of permanent hearing loss? If nothing else, at least buy some of those foam ear plugs. I've been looking for a shorty helmet that has strapp without a triangular opening so that my ears would be covered to lessen the wind noise.

I think one of the carbon fiber helmets websites sells them with leather of the traingle in the straps. Probably not as good as plugs though. Harley sells a set of chrome earplugs PN-08873HD for $42.40 or they come in wrinkle black for $35.

Thanks for the pics, that is exactly what I wanted to see, I want the tach to help with tuning the sert. As for the hearing loss its a good thing I can read cause I sure as hell would have to say WHAAAAT at least a few times in a conversation. Wrinkle black earplugs suck, they let to much sound in around the wrinkles, might work for a really old person if the wrinkles line up just right.

Beauty is just a light switch away. TR
