Default Installing Passenger Pegs on a Bob

I am still looking at seats and pegs but i need to get them.... I looked at my bike to see where the pegs go and the right side over the Pipes looks like no problem.... the left side over the belt looks like a B. Do I need to take off the Guard? or I saw you can move it out of the way.....Do the Mounts work with the stock guard or do I need to remove it....Does anyone have a picture of how the left side looks and fits..... Would be helpful as I'm planning on doing it this weeekend....Thanks!!

Someone posted that you don't need to which I'm sure you could do but when I did mine I took it off. It's only 2 bolts and 3 more min for the install.

It's a little tight gettting to the bolt under the drive belt. You can get the socket in but no room for the ratchet. I used a quarter inch ratcheting closed end wrench slid up on the lower shaft of the socket to turn it and didn't have to loosen the drive belt.

I did mine by just loosening the belt gaurd. Like TOMMAY said, it is a tight fit, but can be done. The belt gaurd bracket will be replaced by the foot peg mount. The whole install took about 10 minutes, that included time taken readin HD's ridiculous instructions that tell you to loosen the entire rear end?????

Damn,Damn,Damn. Walked outisde to take a pic for you and my friggin camera is broke again. Digital screen shows garbage. Second time it's done this. First time they said I'd dropped it but grudgingly fixed it under warranty. Now I gotta go back to Best Buy and go thru this crap again. Glad I bought the extended warranty, maybe that'll give me a little leverage.

Good Luck on your install,it'll be easy.

Coyote,
I am about as mechanically illiterate as you can get and it took me less than an hour. Of course it built my confidence a bit too!!
1. Buy a T45 socket bit for 3/8 drive socket.
2. Right side is easy two bolts out, and put in foot peg.
3. Next side loosen the front belt guard bolt and push up. No need to take back bolt out of belt guard. Of course you can if you need too.
4. Push belt up and loosen 2 bolts holding black piece that attaches to belt guard. Loosen bolts, remove black piece, you will not use it again.
5. Put footpeg piece in place and tighten bolts by hand. Then pull socket tip out of wrench and use large pliers to turn socket head in bolts until you have enough space to attach socket wrench back to socket. Tighten down. Attach belt guard to new thread holes on foot peg.
6. Attach foot pegs
7. Open several miller lite's and smile. Of course this was a big accomplisment for me.

Thanks again! I did it! Not so bad, The only T45 was a little big so I had to use a wrench to turn the Wratchet T45 other wise, with the Ratchet, it was just too tall to fit under the belt....I had to take the belt guard totally off....I put the Pillion seat on for th Stock solo...It's all on there....

Question, with the Pillion on, the only thing holding it on is the Back bolt and the tongue in the front. Is that it? It seems to be loose in the middle....I used all the bolts...Is there another bolt i should use in the middle somewhere?

Thanks again and now I can ride everyday even when i have to pick my son up....

Well,... I ordered the chrome bracket for mine and for some reason I assumed that it also came as a kit like the black wrinkle finish one does but it dont. I had to buy two additional T-45 bolts and then a peg mounting kit. By the time I was dont it cost me appx $175.00, but the chrome does look nice. Luckily the install was much easier than what the instructions stated.
