Default Dumb Slip-on Question

With my stock system the muffler is welded to header... If I were to switch mufflers out would I need to saw off the stock muffler??

Welcome to the forum. I don't think I understand the question but a simple clamp should loosen the slip-ons and allow them to well...slip-off. I'm sure you'll get some better responses from others.

Do you have slip-ons? If they are *welded* on, it sounds like a set of FULL exhaust...Are there any clamps? What kind of bike is it and is it the stock exhaust?

Its a 2006 FLSTCI Heritage classic ... I don't think the exhaust is stock although it looks stock.. They did a stage 1 ... but the muffler is welded ... I can see the bead

How does it sound? Have you looked into a full exhaust since the mufflers are welded!? Do you have a pic?

look futher down the pipe! you should see a clamp. its not right where the muffler and pipe meet!

it's brand new...... dealer added .... looking in the muffler I see no baffels.....its loud ... sets off car alarms and rattles windows

With no heat shields from the weld at the muffler all the way up to the head ... there is no clamps.... I tried to upload pic ... but is says file too large .. its 1.2meg pic

Are you sure stock pipes are not welded... There are no names on the pipes.... they look like the stock pipes ... but the dealer said they changed pipes and air filter and re-mapped chip.. i was thinking they might have taken the baffels out of the stock ones and just told me they are different pipes
