Default Dragbar finally installed on my 06 Sportster low

Finally I have done my handlebar and I love it. I have a 06 Sportster 1200 low, at first I decided to swap my stock risers with my buddy's 04 883 custom, he wanted to go ape hanger. Perfect! So we made a deal exchange the risers and speedometer housing. I took my old handlebar and risers off the bike, installed the 883 custom pullback riser and checked the position. Damn! The pullback riser base hit the headlight mount, because the custom has a different headlight which is mounted on the lower part of the triple tree. Well I had no choice and turned down my idea.
I browsed the Harley website and found the 6" tall riser and dragbar, they are stock for Nighttrain. I said what the heck, give it a try. I bought the risers and dragbar, put them on the bike and the position is just right, so I carry on my project. The hardest part is to rewire, I wouldn't say hard but really time consuming. First I installed my old grips, switches, clutch and brake levers, adjust to my comfort riding position. Then I made some marking and remove all. I drill three 3/8 holes on my handle bar, two going on both end just above the switch lower half cover and the other hole in the middle. All the wires include the speedometer are little bit too short for my new handlebar, I cut them and run the wires through the handlebar. I have extended the wires by 4-5 inches, soldered each wire and shrink tube wrap. The clutch cable is a bit longer but it is not noticeable at all. Without the fuel tank, it looks kind of funny, I mean the straight risers are sticking up high. After I put the gas tank, it looks totally different, I like it a lot I must say. That's all for this winter unless something comes to my mind, you never know. [8D]

That looks sweet pal, that speedo same as the one on a dyna? Does it have the security icon on it? Thinking of swapping out my wrinkle black speedo on my SG so it won't look so goofy standing straight up now that I installed the 4' pulled back risers.Again the bike looks great, outstanding job.

Looks really good. I went witht he same setup, 6 in riser, drag bar. I didnt attept to hide the wires like you, nice work. But mounted my speedo at the headlight visor using spacers and longer bolts.

Look mean. Planning to do a dragbar setup too and yours looks encouraging. Did you change to longer cables (accelerator, brakes, clutch) too?

Myself i didnt have to change anything. With the 6 in riser, the bars actually sit up about the same height, at least to me they do.

Yes, I believe the speedometer is same as the Dyna low rider but not 100% sure and it has a security icon on it.

No, I use everything stock, the handlebar is sitting at about the same height as before. Like I mentioned, the clutch cable is a bit longer but not noticeable, it does not bother me. You have to loosen the brake master cylinder banjo bolt to twist the rubber hose up a bit(see the picture), it looks better. For the wires, I do have to extend them by a couple of inches, make sure you crank the handlebar to far right to measure how much more longer you need. I have soldered over 20 wires and I believe this way will last forever, hate butt connector.

Your bike looks great.......

By the way, how do you like that Big Sucker 2 Air Cleaner? Any issues or problems with it?

How do I like it? It sucks! [8D] I mean it sucks more air lol.............it sounds good and does the job. I have no problem with blow-by from the crankcase, I do see a bit oil sitting at the bottom of the air cleaner but it isn't dripping though. Fair enough

That looks rad! Good job! Putting drag bars on my 1200C was an easy job with the risers already on there. I like the drag bars a lot.
