Howdy lolife,

I have seen floorboards on Dyna's and I personally do not like them on any version of that model. The dyna frame looks to small to me to look good with boards, almost like putting boards on a Sportie.

A softail frame is another story.

Just my opinion, since you asked for it.

I just installed Softail floorboards on my 2005 Dyna Super Glide.

I used Cycle Vsion 2" forward floorboard extension kit for Softail (Fatboy, Heritage and Deluxe) and drilled and countersunkone holeon eachbracket to fit the upper forward control mounting point on the Dyna frame. The shift linkage that came with it worked fine. I am using the stock Softail shifter parts anda FXDWG brake rod (it must be installed before the floorboard bracket is installed).

I like the retro look, too; so, I got the oval floorboards. The brake pedal is for an older model Softail (that useda spring) and I had to straighten out the spring tab to connect it to the brake rod.

With regards tothecomment about the Dyna not being big enough for boards: Wheelbase for '07 Streetbob is 64.2" / for '07 Softail Deluxe is 64.5" / for '07 1200 Sportster 59.7" [0.3" doesn't seem like that much of a difference to me ... IMHO] I guess I have a vested interest now that I have them; but, I am quite please with the look.

An alternative I had considered was to get the parts for the old Dyna Defender (police bike) that was the last Dyna to come from the factory with floorboards--last production year was 2004. But, it was a few hundred dollars more and the boards mounted a little further aft than I wanted (they usethe forward and mid mounts so board is positioned between the mounts / I had quotes for $600 - $700 from dealers who still had the parts in stock).

I discarded the option of using the peg mounted boards ... obviously a simple, relatively inexpensiveand quick solution to implement, but I had not gotten good feedback from some who had gone that route.

If you are asking about iso boards...I like them - they let you place your foot in many different positions - real good for cowboy boots...and they fold up easy when they hit pavement - USUALLY not throwing bike off line....
I couldn't figure out why I always had bruises about peg height...I got them moving bike around with stock pegs...the angled edge of the iso board kinda lets it slid by your leg...w/o bruising...
Kur. chrome (and many others) do not last here by the beach...Wind Vest hardware may be he worst...

I really like the look myself. I have a 06 SG Custom and I'm wanting to do the same thing. I know you can get the nice chrome supports and boards for the passenger. I can't understand why they won't put out an option for the rider like we want. It's only more money for them.
