Hd 33cb
I recently acquired a 1933 HD single. It has 33CB1050 number stamped on the motor. I have not been able so far to find any info on this model. Engine size, production numbers, etc. It's in very good condition, an older restoration. Can anyone help with info, or suggest places I can further research, Thanks

As FilthyLucre mentioned, the 33CB was a 30.50 ci single in a Model B frame. It's listed on the 1933 model layout sheet but for reasons unknown I can't get the sheet and my text in this one post so I'll put the sheet in the next post.
Proper production figures are unknown to me. The Legend Begins, an official H-D publication, provides amounts but also says on page 198 that production figures in the book are not to be regarded as totally accurate so that doesn't help us.
Another thing to consider is that even though the engine may be stamped with the serial number you posted, that doesn't necessarily mean that it was stamped at the Harley factory. If you post a clear photo of the serial number we may be able to give you an opinion on whether or not the serial number appears authentic.
Stamped on the bottom of each crankcase half you may find belly numbers formatted similar to the following example: 33-1234. Please let us know what they are as they may help with ID.

Thanks for the the info on the CB. I will look under motor and send numbers & picture of VIN stamped on engine. Hopefully it's not a made up bike. Bought from an old friend and long time collector. Other bikes I bought from the estate: a 1934 HD 34VD8083, 1938 HD UH, 1941 HD WLD. Three Indians 1931 101 Scout, 1938 Scout, & 1941 Scout. These were his favorites only to be sold after he passed on. We have a lot to learn about them, & then get them checked over before some back country rode riding.

Speeding Big Twin, send me your e-mail and I will then send picture of 1933CB VIN number on engine. I could not see numbers on bottom of engine due to shape of frame there, which covers the whole bottom of engine. My e-mail is jimray03@aol.com Thanks jim
