Default What's missing? Tons of buffeting

As most, I had a good bit of buffeting coming up from between my hard lowers and inner fairing. Had thought of getting HDs fork/wind deflector (despite some other opinions that they didnt help much) but HD ones would not fit my Screamin Eagle Ultra because of the bracket that holds the turn signals and passing lights. On my mention of that on this forum, I met up with Joe from JESCUSTOMACCENTS. He was infact manufactoring sets to fit my bike.
After talking with Joe, I ordered a set and received them a couple days ago. Pretty impressed right out of the box with the thickness and chrome finish on these. Install was 15 minutes at top. Took the bike out for a highway test and wow! Can easily say I lost at least 80% of the wind that used to hit me from down in the tank area. Ran the bike up to over 80 and watched the deflectors and they looked steady as a rock and had no different feeling as any shaking on the bars.
A smiling happy boy here. Here's a pic as to how they look on the bike. Hats off to a great USA made product.

They do make a difference. Glad someone finally made some for the CVOs.

Not having a windshield, you're getting the full blast of the wind. Which isn't really bad. With a shield, buffeting can be so severe that it'll actually blur your vision. It's much more pronounced with a helmet, any helmet.

I can attest to this. Went out once with half helm and just my little eyeglasses (no windshield) and got hammered so bad by the wind that my eyes went blurry in no time and I pretty much had to head back home. (that's when I got wrap-around sunglasses that fit over my glasses)

Buffeting, however, hasn't been a problem with my windshield. Maybe because the damn thing is so tall (I have to stretch up straight to see over it). Cutting it down to nose level soon. Just my luck the buffeting will set in.

Does having lowers on the Ultra increase buffeting? The reason I ask is, I have the EGC and have never experienced buffeting.
