I just installed this windshield http://www.memphisshades.com/harley-shades/sportshields-family/del-rey and went for about a thirty minute ride down the highway and the wind buffeting is horrible. It is so bad it damn near takes my shades off my face. Is there anything I can do?
Like JC Sporty said, play with the angle, it can't hurt. I found when I had one on my Boulevard it didn't extend low enough, and I could never get the buffeting to go away. I also tried adding lowers, which only made a small difference. When you are riding, try putting an arm across the tank and see if that stops it. If it does, you may also need lowers if adjusting the angle doesn't get it done.
Thats odd. I have the same shield and I get little to no buffeting. I have the shield angled straight up and the brackets are installed nearly as high as they will go.
I personally think the shield is great. After installing the shield I'm finally able to ride without the wind blowing my glasses off and pulling my half helmet off my head. It also provides a substantial drop in upper body fatigue.
I'm 5'10" and have a bars that cause me to hunch over a bit, kinda like the bars on an Iron.
