I put them on my 17 RGS and they help some what with the buffeting, but they do push some air up in front of the tank.
If you have a buffeting problem, there are many things that may cause it...windshield, helmet, speed, riding position, etc.
Anyway, for 40.00 bucks, you can't go too wrong.

Seems like I get quite a lot of wind up under the fairing and right up either side of the tank and of course up into my ears. I'm also planning on upgrading to a taller better windshield, but saw these. Of course I go to where I bought my bike and they dont have a set to fit my model.
Planning on heading to another local dealer this afternoon. If they dont have them I guess I can order online.
They help a bit, but wind management on a Road Glide involves many things that help.
Lowers help a lot. A recurve windshield also helps, and of course the engine guard mounted wind deflectors as well.
I can smoke a cigar on my FLTRU.
Planning on starting with these guards I think. It doesnt seem like I get a lot of wind from over the windshield....I am 5'8", but may still opt for a bit taller one from long rider shields. I think the stock one is 8", but thats measured from end to end folowing the slant of the windshield, and not vertical straight up and down. So I could go a couple more inches and with the recurved tops, it would help I'm sure.
Didnt want to buy engine guards yet, but maybe if both of these dont do the trick.
Its been worse the last week or so. I think we've had a lot of cross winds that really whip side to side when riding.
Do you think that the bike will run hotter or cooler with these? I have a pair from my 2016 RGS and was going to put them on my 2017 RGS in the winter but might put them on now if they help keep the engine cooler. Thanks!
I put an 11" Freedom Shield on my bike to replace a windshield I bought on the cheap. The recurve on the freedom shield works much better than the previous one and there is no real distortion when you look through it.
I'm also going to put lowers on the bike this coming winter. That's how my previous RGU was setup and I had no buffeting at all.
I also do not have much on this bike but miss the road and rain protection and also the little bit of storage they provided.

Not really sure if it will affect the bike either way. Once I get them I will see and can comment.
