There has been a lot of controversy on whether to use synthetic oil during breakin of a new or rebuilt motor. To try to put this in perspective, here is some of the manufacturers that use synthetic oil from the factory as the first fill...

You be the judge here...

Aston Martin
Bentley Amage and Bentley GT
BMW all models
Cadillac CTS, XLR, SRX and STS
Chevrolet Corvette
Dodge Viper
Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles
Mercedes SLR
Mitsubishi EVO
Pontiac GTO
All Porsche vehicles
HD Screamin eagle bikes

One of the myths that surrounds synthetic oils is that new engines require a break-in period with conventional oil. The fact is, current engine manufacturing technology does not require this break-in period. As indicated by the decisions of the engineers who design the high-performance cars listed above, Mobil 1 can be used starting the day you drive the car off the showroom floor.

You can also add Honda cars to your list.
Mine has synthetic oil directly from the manufacturer, and the dealer puts synthetic in it every oil change.

I have used synthetic oils in all my vehicles (cars, trucks and bikes) from the start. As soon as I get it home I dump the oil in it and fill with synthetic. I have never had a problem.
This will always be a hot topic, but it hurts nothing.

I build older machines, Shovelheads back to Flatheads. All of them get synthetic from the very beginning.
