Paint Vs Gas

What is the best paint or top coat to use that will be affected the least when gas is spilled on it?

How do you protect your custom paint?

I carry 2 bandanas in my jacket, one on each side. Left is for my head, right is for gas.

I cover the nozzle after shaking it out, on its way into the tank, then the same when removing.

I haven't dripped yet. I haven't heard of any paint that is gasoline resistant, however good wax and washing it quickly after a spill should be more than sufficient.

I saw online there are tank condoms to prevent spills.

I pretty much do my own paint on my ride. My old paint job which you see below, was susceptible to gas which used to eat the top coat. My new paint job, which I will post pics of later, I used a 2 part hardened clear coat which resists gas.

Painted last weekend with MTK. Have not color sanded, buffed it out or waxed it yet. Gas spirted up on it yesterday and the gas just sat there like beads of water on wax. I was pretty sure this paint would do the trick because I painted my 63 mini cooper with it last year and gas does not affect it.

Wow, well I suck then.

I went to what was supposed to be a respected shop, and they told me that there is no gas resistant paint when I was getting a car painted recently.

I guess I'll go sit in the corner now

They do not advertise MTK as being gas resistant, but so far it has been good for me.
