Sign the National Motorcycle Lane-Splitting Petition for The White House NOW!
The joy of zipping past cars at a standstill on the 405 or 10 freeway during rush hour is a beautiful thing and anyone that practices the action safely can attest to the joy of not sitting in traffic sucking on the emissions of the VW in the fast lane when no one is moving.
In California, lane-splitting, lane sharing, lane filtering, is an accepted practice which is not deemed illegal as it is in other states. Last year California introduced California Assembly Bill 51, a bill attempting to codify lane-splitting into state law as opposed to keeping it in it’s current unwritten enactment. The bill did not pass based on conflicts between organizations and supporters.
This week a new petition has popped up on the White House web site hoping to legalize lane-splitting nationwide.
Take a moment out of your day to and sign the petition at the link below. Having the option to split lanes is a win for all motorcyclists, believe us, we do it all the time here in California.
Just provide name, email address, and zip code to the cause. It will take 100,000 signatures to be considered by the executive branch.
