British Biker Couple Plan Harley-centric Wedding

Would you schedule your wedding day around a motorcycle rally?

It’s a given that we all like our bikes loud. However, there are a few times in our lives when a little less noise is preferable. Our wedding day would be near the top of that list. For two Harley-Davidson fans on the other side of the Atlantic, that’s going to prove to be a bit of a challenge.

Shelley Denton and Paul Osborn of Gloucestershire, England, originally planned on a small, quiet, low-key wedding. However, they are both members of a motorcycle club called the Dunedin Chapter. That club’s annual rally takes them north to Scotland, where, as reported by the BBC, they will have their wedding as part of the rally’s festivities.

The rally, called Thunder in the Glens, takes riders through the Cairngorms, offering some breathtaking views of the Scottish countryside and the mountainous highlands. Over two thousand riders are already registered, with several hundred more expected to show up. That should push attendance to nearly three thousand.

Dozens — if not hundreds — of motorcyclists are expected to attend Shelley and Paul’s wedding. The wedding party will be made up of club members, with Alex Glen, the director of the Dunedin Chapter, giving Shelley away to Paul.

Riding through the Scottish highlands with thousands of other Harleys sounds like one heck of a honeymoon. Imagine sharing those breathtaking views with your new spouse.

The happy couple joined the club in 2015 and have been very active since, but their story goes back much further. They met at a dealership ride in Cheltenham back in 2011 and fell in love.

While their story is unusual and their wedding is unconventional, we’re certain the experience will be unforgettable. We here at H-D Forums wish them all the best, and we promise we’re not crying. Someone must have snuck onions into our midnight snack or something.
