Electric starts are convenient, for sure. But kick starting a bike looks way cooler, and there’s a sense of satisfaction you don’t get by hitting a tiny red button.
I found this photo on Reddit.com/r/harley, and it made me wonder about the last time I’d kicked over a bike. I can’t remember exactly, but it’s been well over ten years. When I was in college I rode an ’86 Yamaha 600 Super Single, and even after baking in the Florida sun all day, it was a bitch to start.
