Crazy Clip o’ the Week: Squids Destroy Bikes, Back Up D.C. Traffic

Bikers sometimes tend to get a bad rap from non-riders, and absurd highway stunts certainly don’t help anyone.

What is wrong with some people? Last week a group of idiot squids was out and about on the interstate around Washington, D.C. The buffoons were showing off their poor riding techniques, swerving around other drivers, doing stunts, and ultimately stuffing some bikes. Of course, the resulting chaos was caught on camera, and after the crash, the entire group ran off and left the bailed bike.

In a nation where many people don’t trust bikers, how are respectable riders like us supposed to be taken seriously when this kind of thing happens? And in the capital of our great nation, no less. How many senators do you think would need to witness something like this in person to try and apply some serious regulations and bans to bikes?

We saw this absurd biker story on The Daily Mail, which is a U.K. news outlet. These people are so stupid, the news made it to all the way to Europe.

We all love the freedom, excitement, and slight renegade image that we get from our bikes. It’s why we ride. And while none of us follows every road law to the letter, we certainly aren’t out there trying to destroy what little reputation bikers have left.

The more time we spend on the road acting respectable, the better we look. So hop on that Harley and go for a nice long ride. If someone wants to complain, tell them you are doing your part to spread awareness of ‘good bikers.’

If you live in or around Washington, D.C. and you have any information about this, let someone know. Considering they left the crashed bike, we hope that a plate trace will lead to an arrest. Of course the bike could be stolen, which makes dumping it a non-issue for these squids.

If you live outside D.C. and you still want to help, take this as a good excuse to go ride. The more time we spend on the road acting in a respectable manner, the better we look. So hop on that Harley and go for a nice long ride this afternoon. If someone wants to complain, tell them you are doing your part to spread awareness of “good bikers.”
