Default Setting the timing procedure on Evo with Crane Fireball HI-4E ignition module?

I have a "new to me" 1998 Softail that already has a Crane ignition module fitted under the seat. The nose cone has the original factory set up.

Can anyone tell me the procedure for setting the timing with a timing light on this set up after increasing compression and a cam swap? Is it the same as for the factory ignition module?

Once I have the timing sorted then I can play around with the advance curve etc on the actual module itself.

Thanks.

Get a sandwich bag to cover the nose of your dial back timing light.
find and mark the Tdc mark on your crank,,,,nake sure it's the TDC mwrk, not the advance mark.
warm up the bike, hold rpm at 2600 rpm, set timing between 28-32 max advance.
this is best done on the dyno, to see how much advance it can take, still make power and not ping.
once you have the max advance set, you can work on the slope.

Thanks for that. Is the TDC mark on the crank vertical or horizontal? Mine is showing a horizontal line?
How do you know when the timing gets to 28-32 ?
