Harley-Davidson Launches Cafe Racer Accessories

Café Custom line aims to make your bike even more badass.

The Sportster bike scene has become increasingly popular lately. Harley-Davidson recognized the surge in the Sportster market and has made a solid lineup of easy-to-install Café Racer accessories available thru its retail shops.

“The new Harley-Davidson Café Custom accessories dramatically alter the look of a Sportster, but they can also transform the riding experience,” says Harley-Davidson Senior Product Manager Rebecca Krueger to Ultimate Motorcycling. “The low bars, rear sets and the seat position put the rider in an aggressive, athletic posture. When blitzing back roads or snaking through an urban jungle, riders feel connected to the motorcycle and the pavement because their weight is shifted lower and forward over the front wheel of the bike. Curbside, the look is unmistakably classic. These Café Custom parts provide the perfect foundation for a uniquely personalized Sportster.”

Krueger also shared that during testing, Harley-Davidson found that the control and confidence gained from these after-market products “ignited a more potent Sportster performance.” That assessment is best decided by bike owners, but there are a few accessories in the collection that should peak your interest.

For instance, the Clip-On Handlebars, which come equipped with bars, fork clamps and all mounting hardware, reportedly fit well on the already low-slung bars on Sportsters. The bars, which fit 2014 or later Sporster bikes, are secured to the fork tubes with precision-machined clamps and aircraft-grade hardware.

Another favorite is the simultaneously retro and modern Café Custom Tail Section. This multi-piece set takes on the flavor of the 1977-79 Harley-Davidson XLCR Café Racer model without losing its contemporary flair. The aggressive-looking seat will run you around $700.

All of the official Café Racer accessories are available at 750 authorized Harley-Davidson retail outlets and via Harley-Davidson’s website.
