EVENTS: Winnipesaukee HOG Chapter Aims for 36 Rides This Year

Chapter 2529, one of the U.S.’ oldest, embarks on biggest number of rides in its entire history, continuing July 8 with Heather’s Ride.

Being a part of a large motorcycle club can be an incredibly entertaining part of a motorcyclist’s life. The Winnipesauke HOG Chapter 2529, which is located in Meredith, N.H. (approximately 60 miles away from Manchester) and sponsored by Laconia Harley Davidson, is one of the oldest HOG Chapters in the U.S. and is looking to spread the love it has for Harley-Davidson with the community by going on 36 rides this season, reports The Laconia Daily Sun.

With that figure, the Harley Owners Group, as the outlet states, will offer its members the largest number of rides ever. Ronald Egalka (pictured second from right, below), the leader of the Chapter, stated that the group has a total of 210 members, with approximately 50 to 60 riders participating in the rides. But for the recent Ride to the Sky event on June 15, there was a total of 200 riders on hand, reports the outlet.

HOG Chapter 2529 can trace its roots back to 1986, and while the chapter has had its ups and downs, things are going smoothly at the moment, as the group recently ended Laconia Motorcycle Week, (main image, above), which ran from June 10 to 18, with a bang. And the safe, festive atmosphere was ensured by Chapter 2529 which mobilized its entire membership for Motorcycle Week to ensure that things went off without a hitch.

“When someone signs up, they can rest assured that it’ll be safe, on good roads, with appropriate breaks for food and fuel and rest,” said Egalka.

With the Chapter’s plan to complete 36 rides this season, it’s safe to assume that another major one is right around the corner, and you would be correct. The next one, Heather’s Ride, will take place on July 8. “We as a chapter have always supported Heather’s Ride, from its first year,” said Egalka. “It’s always been the favorite charity ride for this chapter.”
