Road Glide LED Headlight Upgrade

Let there be light, and lots of it! Looking for a safer night-driving experience? Our forums are where you’ll find plenty of practical tips.

As far as online tech forums go, our very own Harley-Davidson Forums online community is growing every day. As the knowledge base increases, so does our understanding of our bikes — and each other. Friends are made, lessons are learned, and at the end of the day, everyone is a little better off than when they started.

A prime example is Bryant, a new member with 22 posts under his belt as of this writing. Bryant hasn’t wasted any time contributing to the H-D Forums knowledge base. He recently installed a new LED light upgrade from Big Jim on his Road Glide, and shared a well-written review he wrote, chronicling the installation process and sharing his thoughts.

Bryant was looking to upgrade the lighting on his bike. He’d run the gamut before — upgraded bulbs, a handful of HID kits, and finally this LED upgrade. As he says in his review:

“Big Jim took an innovative approach to match together a set of HD LED lights, with a custom made bracket and wiring harness, and thus the first, that I know of, usable HD LED Road Glide light system is born.”

Not only did it help him personalize his bike and improve its looks, it improved visibility as well. Despite the fact that it wasn’t 100% plug-and-play, it looks like the kit was made to simplify installation as much as possible, and the result is a factory-quality upgrade that looks incredible, day or night.

Forum member PeteWerner agreed:

“Any monkey can do this if I can do it!! The materials and design seem to be sooo much nicer, solid and good looking.”

BigDaddyMike added:

“Looks great, impressive light output, price is a tad high but not out of the question for a NEW item being R&Dd. I’d love to test drive a set of these! Waiting to see if price comes down, if not there’s always the tax refund check….”

After several comments about price, the vendor, HoleShotChoppers, stepped up to offer a group buy that would knock $100 off the price. For Road Glide owners, that’s a no-brainer!
