Went to the Dealer yesterday to have the Brake line recall done and while en-route my front brake wouldn't release the cruise control.
Dealer checked it and found that the switch was bad so it wasn't activating the brake light either.
New switch ordered and will be replaced under warranty. Over 8,000 miles on my new 14 FLHXS that I bought at the end of March and this is the only hiccup so far.
I had the exact same issue on my FLHTK. Dealer didn't have a switch in stock either but they actually took one off a new bike so I wouldn't have to come back a 2nd time. Gave them a thumbs up for that little extra bit of customer service.
yep, but similar issues still going on with current models.
Old threads are every bit as informative as new ones.
I recently replaced my 2014 switch packs with lighted ones, as the right side stock one was almost the same price as BOTH lighted ones.
My brake light was only coming on when I squeezed the front brake pretty hard - Way harder than I generally use on the street.
The lighted ones are really nice. One of those things I didn't know I would enjoy as much as I do. Easy to install, took about 20 minutes with me being my overly meticulous self. The only unfortunate thing was someone had pre-opened the left side packaging and liberated the horn switch cap, so I had to use the cap that's included for the trike models, that has an R above the horn. The switches took 6 weeks to come in, I'll live with it.
