Default Battery fail

This last Saturday when I attempted to start my bike ('14 Limited) the motor turned over twice and the starter just clicked afterwards. Would not begin to turn over after that. I pulled the battery and took it to the dealership and the battery tested immediately printed out the results with "replace battery". I was given a new battery under warranty and it cured the problem.
Looking back several months I should have seen this coming. Over that time it became harder and harder to start, turning over slower and slower until this last Saturday. The bike is a year old with only 15K miles and I always use a battery tender if not in use more than a few days. Relating that problem to two friends with 2014 bikes they both said they too have noticed their bikes beginning to act the same way.
Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem with their '14's?

I thought for sure you weren't using a Battery Tender until I read the very end. It could be just a bad battery; plain and simple. They're out there. The other thing it could be too is the battery tender itself. I've used an original Del Tran Battery Tender for years on an airplane and many cars. IMO, they're the most reliable brand available. Others have been known to overcharge the battery and that will decrease their life.

Sounds like you need to have your charging system checked and do a milliamp draw test. Not normal for two batteries to die in a row.

Had to have mine replaced after 10 months and 2000 miles, It also would crank over slow but the one thing that I have noticed is that when i would turn the ignition on the radio would come on and when I would start the bike the radio would go dead, blank screen, nothing, sence they replaced the battery the radio has work fine. I just hope the bad battery was the reason the radio would cut out

Mine is about 8 months old and 3000 miles and is having same issue. Going to have it tested this week. My 10 Limited battery went out the same way over a period of time. The 14 went completely dead on trip in trailer for 6 days. I had it in transport mode and left the fob in tourpak. Had a 12 limited in same trailer with weak battery and it did fine. The 12 did go out in middle of Yellowstone on a Sunday, but that is another story. The 14 went dead again on the trip home. No way to leave it on battery tender while traveling. I believe the radio or computer system is definitely drawing more amps. Also the radio is erratic in the way it comes on. Sometimes when you turn it on the radio comes on immediately. Other times it won't come on until warm up period. It was blanking out sometimes and taking lot longer to come on. I turned the automatic brightness off and that hasn't happened anymore. Also did the latest update and that may be what happened.

I keep it on the battery tender everyday. I think the security system draws a fair amount of power and could draw the battery down after a few days.

I vote security system.

Proximity security systems are a constant draw. Motorcycle electrical systems aren't as robust as modern car systems that use the same technology. I had the same trouble on my 2011 Road King so I swapped out the TSSM (security) for a TSM (non-security). Since then, no slow starts, no low voltage codes.

Every time the security system senses a proximity fob (when parked) it ques up the system and increases draw; no matter if it's your fob or not. Park in an area where these fobs are constantly present (even cheap cars have them now) and you got yourself a battery that won't last as long as one on a bike without a proximity security system.
