Rear caliper mesh screen

Just noticed my rear caliper is missing the screen cover. Is this left blank at the factory or did mine fall off? Thanks.

No screen on mine & no screen shown in the service manual for the rear caliper.

Mine had none on the rear as well so appears that's the way they came. I painted my front ones to match my Harlequin flames and bought a chrome one and installed on the rear (even though you can't see it) ..

Painted them to match the color shifting PPG flame paint on rest of bike, dash. AC screen, etc.
