Single best place to get music with no virus (Guaranteed) is to rip the sings directly from your own CD's.....just rip them with media player (or iTunes) as MP3 files directly to a flash drive or to your phone and use this in your system.....flash drive connects to system directly and phone can be connected directly or via BT
I have ipod touch that I will not put on the bike. I have a micro sd card with thumb drive adapter and it is great. Album covers and all. Does everything an ipod can do. Search for songs or artist with right joy stick.
Also use it in my RAM 1500, my kid's Jeep, at work and sometimes stand alone.
Those that say get a thumb drive, ONLY if that's the only place you use it.
I took the USB out of the "juke box" and ran it into the TourPak, so I'm not worried about someone having easy access to my electronics.
did you use the usb port from the juke box back to the tourpak? if so, how long of a usb cable did you acquire? I've been planning to do a re-route back to saddlebag for my 15rgs just so i can store my iPhone in juke box and iPod in saddlebag that i can leave locked up
I use the iPod Nano, plugged into my bikes USB. I leave it there. My phone rides in the tour pak, accessed when desired via Bluetooth. When needed I also charge my phone in the tour pak.
Don't waste your $$ on an iPod. I wouldn't even think of using an iPod on this system unless you already have one......anything you can do on an iPod (With the Boom Box 6.5) you can do with music on your smartphone or even better MP3s that you can download to a thumb drive....you won't be controlling your music at 60 MPH from your iPod but rather the system will be doing it so any features of the iPod are typically lost when using it with the BoomBox so the best way to do that is with one of the devices described above.....save the money for the iPod and buy something else for your bike
Good luck!
Agree completely use what you have keeps phone charged also. Thumb drive is cheapest option
