Thinking about painting my inner fairing to match the rest of the vivid black on my 14 SG. Has anybody done the removal themselves? I got to scratch an itch for another project.
I have done the speakers and grills. The plastic covers on my Limited were a pain. I spoke to a guy on facebook that paints and installs inners. A HD service manual should be all you need. He claims he can do them in about an hour? Maybe after you have done a bunch of them they can go that quick?
I have been in touch with the Facebook gent. He wants a core charge of 450.00, once I return mine to him he will refund my 250.00. The 200.00 also includes the shipping from him.

Have mine apart now as I ordered a Daytona Blue inner from HD after my dealer gave me 20% off retail. Its a little overwhelming at 1st but after I had it apart it will be an easy reassembly. The worst is the speaker boxes with the 3 hidden fasteners on each side. Better have a good set of universals and patience. Paul from the facebook(painted inner fairings)did not have my color as Harley will not sell the custom color paint. There is another thread on here and one of the rushmore guys from the UK sent pictures. Bag up the hardware with the items removed and maybe take some pictures before disassembly. I did not remove the radio and framework; just tilted it forward to remove the inner; might be helpful to have a bud around. Cover the tank or remove it and cover your fender too. Good luck and I hope to have mine back together in a couple weeks after the painted inner shows up.
68Beep,
I see that you also installed the Cobra Power Port! I did a complete investigation on the available exhaust systems for our bikes. The price was reasonable and I liked the cross over pipe being full diameter and not smashed like some other performance systems.

It was an easy install too and uses the same mounting points as the stock pipe does.
