Default "No playable data found"..

...that is the message I see when I try to update my radio software.

I only use a computer to surf sites so I'll be the first to say I know absolutely nothing irt downloads and installs.

Took 52 minutes to download latest software update (WIN 7, HP computer, hi-speed connection) from HD site.

Took 15 minutes of trying/failing to open a window on the 8gb flash drive to "see" what was on it.

Never found a root directory on the flash drive. Never found the word "directory".

After 15 more fruitless minutes, used "send to" function to copy the download onto drive "F" (flash drive).

Followed install instructions on pg 62 of Boom Box manual.

Radio displayed "No playable data found" when flash drive attached to USB.

Why does HD "assume" everyone knows computer programming. Yes, I know I'm in the minority and the world has passed me by.

????

The only file you need to move to the flash drive is the one that ends in .iso

When you download from the HD site you get 2 files. Just drag the .iso to the flash drive and it should work.

Good luck

After downloading to your thumb drive did you right click on the file and click extract all to unzip the file? The file while zipped cannot be read by your bike until this happens.

I found out this morning when I updated mine that it wouldn't read my 64gb thumb drive for some reason, I had already unzipped it from my desk top and then installed it on a 1gb thumb drive and it worked fine.

Thank you for the quick replies. Please remember that I called myself stupid. so...

1. What does "drag the iso file to the thumb drive" mean ?

2. The iso file is the one I used the "send to" function to copy it to my flash drive.

3. Going to "try" to unzip the file as replied, but don't hold your breath. Remember who you're dealing with.

regards,

regards,
Extracted the "zipped" iso file to another file on the same flash drive. Installed as per page 62 of manual. Same (no playable data found) msg on screen.

Deleted "zipped" iso file from flash drive leaving just the unzipped one on it. Re-installed on bike, same (no playable data found) msg on screen.

delete the file from the flash drive. on your computer double click the zip file (it should be under downloads) then right click on the .iso file then move to F:

My SanDisk flash drive has two files on it besides the unzipped download.

1. SanDiskSecureAccessV2.0

2. SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win

Do these need deleted for this process to work?

When I right click on the .iso file I get a pop up window that contains:
open
cut
copy
delete
properties

When I click on copy, no further pop up windows appear.
