I have a Limited and do not use the HD GPS , I have been using Waterproof Garmin products on my bikes for several years(street pilot and zumo) . My current unit is the Zumo 590 LM, it isnt cheap but it works . It does work with the input kit from HD , you will need a 3.5mm extension cable and have the dealer do a radio flash. Also the directions have some typo errors. You plug the HD cable into the output of the garmin not the input.
Some of us didn't want water cooled. I have added almost all of the convenience items that come on the limited (Tour pack rack, 12 volt outlet, CB). I had the 6.5 Boom upgrade prior to delivery ($800 I think).
jm7480, you say that 590 will interrupt music, cb, xm, etc. what ever you may be listening to on the 6.5 infotainment system when connected with the aux. cable and flashed, I thought the road tech version zumos would only do that?

I thought that when you had HD do the flash for the second input, that anytime anything comes over that input, it interrupts all other audio functions. I could be wrong though. I'll ask a buddy later today that had this done.

I put my Zumo 590LM on my 2015 UL and added the auxiliary input wiring. The dealer did the flash, gladly charging me for that very little labor, and the sound ONLY goes through the Boom 6.5 when I select the auxiliary input. When in any other mode nothing is passed from the Zumo through the speakers.
Most of the time I have the Zumo paired with my Sena headset so I get prompts there.

Yep, just talked to Jesse and he said that you have to select the input from the options to be able to hear it.

If you use the Harley Road Tech 660 or 665 GPS then the radio will play the turn prompts automatically. Used to be in the older bikes that you needed to install the Harley Navigation Interface Module (NIM) for this to happen. The new Boom Radio's have the NIM circuit already installed.

I am very interested in your statement that H-D has addressed the limit on waypoints. That is a big drawback for a lot of bikers that depend on programmed long routes with many waypoints. .
I just saw an update on HD's site to update the Infotainment system, it now handles up-to 100 way points.
