Just a few thoughts, never use Decon or sticky traps or any trap that has bait. You are baiting them, the bait attracts them. If possible spread Ajax or Comet around the bike or anything else you want to keep mice from. Mouse feet are moist and tacky, that is how they get to places they do. The Ajax or Comet will burn their feet and thus keep them away.
Blocks of naphthalene under your bike, and car, will deter Mickey and Minnie. Pinch some from the nearest public urinal (just kidding, but that's where they are used).
I read somewhere that Peppermint oil keeps spiders and mice away. Put some in a spray bottle with water and spray around the shed and doors, some around the floor where your bike is.
A friend said he always cuts up bars of Irish Spring soap. I tried that when I had a boat and was mouse free in the spring. On the same lines, a few years back I had a BMW R80RT and one of the guys at work asked me if I fed my bike dog food? I said why and he took me out into the parking lot and sure enough there were morsels of dog food on the ground under my bike. I took the air cleaner cover off and there was at least a half cup of dog food along with mouse droppings. Same year the mice ate a wiring harness on my riding mower.
Glad you found it. But I have to ask. Living in the country, why would you put your bike in a shed when you have a garage??
We park the trucks in the garage in the winter and I don't have enough room in the garage for 2 trucks, 2 bikes, and a snowmobile... basically I need a bigger garage!
Apparently, scented fabric softener sheets that you put in the dryer will keep them out. We use them in airplanes and gliders where I work and they really seem to work.
You could put a couple inside the fairing and see what happens. The catch is, if you leave them in there for a really long time (like a year) with out changing them out with new ones, they can lose their smell and ATTRACT mice!
