Default Headlight trim

Ok here's he deal I bought the burst trim ring and after doing some reading. I was wondering what is the difference between the headlight mounting bucket on the 2014 and previous models. Or does it not fit because the book says so and that is the holy grail of what fits and must be so lol. I have it mounted as per directions it fits tight can't pull it off, fits around the light well and so on. With that being said I know most would say what are you worried about. Wee that is it my front fender has had enough punishment and do t feel like having it fixed like the time a wrench got dropped on it ( long but short funny story). I was also wondering for you that have tried it as said it doesn't fit. What was the experience you had. Here is a pic of the label on the packaging.

Label right off of packaging.

From what I understood, the fitment issue is not of the headlight diameter or the light bucket configuration. It is that of the fairing, specifically, the fairing brow that hangs over the trim. The rushmore bikes have more of a hang over vs. no over on '13s and earlier. If you have the trim installed and it clears the top of the fairing brow, your golden! Good job! I've been looking at that headlamp trim too! Lol..

Around the top of the brow I belive there is about a half to 3/8 of an inch clearance around the top of the trim. It grabs the headlight bucket the way it should. It is a little bit more cost effective than buying the Roland sands one.

I just noticed this is an upgraded LED light not the SGS halogen light. Does anyone know if this trim fits on the OEM light bucket for a '14 SGS? Pictures if so?

From what I understand according to the dealers parts guy whether or not it is a halogen or the day maker led light the bucket it all sits in is the same. This trim ring grabs on the bucket edge itself, the original ring needs to be removed. Not sure if that helps you.
