I also have always used some sort of carabiner or belt hook such as THIS and have never had a problem. I have only lost one set of keys in over 40 years and that was due to removing the keys at a ballgame and placing them under my seat, and forgetting that I had removed them, instead of what I would have normally done, which was, move them to another loop. Anyway, I have always carried every set of keys, car, bike, truck, office, etc..., it makes them easy to access and easy to store, and also gives the FOB a good connection, this is probably something that takes some getting used to, and better suited for some, but it works very well for me.

I wanted to add, I used to keep a chain connected to the key ring also and connected to another loop, just in case, but I keep that chain connected to my cellphone case in the past several years instead, for phone safety, works great if you do a lot of movements that tend to break phone carrying cases, which seems to be part of my routine.

Zippered closed.

Winter or cold weather keep them key fob, and my iphone, zippered inside leather jacket pocket.

Warm weather another light HD jacket, zipped in an inside pocket.

God forbid you go down, need 911, you need your phone with you. Security, you need your fob on your person (mho)

I use a good belt hook, not the cheap plastic ones. Never had a problem with the belt hook. However I did loose the keys to my vette that were in my pocket one day while riding my bike. Expensive lesson learned.

Thanks for the replies. I definitely don't want the key hanging right off my belt, might try the skinny jeans.

I keep mine in the front right pocket of my leather vest. When I am sitting upright, the pocket is upright too. Doesn't zip closed or anything, but I have never had an issue.

Personally I love this new bike. In my 2009 Street Bob, the key had to be in the ignition. I would constantly forget it there and even leave the lights on.

Never has a problem putting them in my front pocket, but did loose them once when I put'em in the pocket of my chaps, then took the chaps off at a gas stations, there went the keys. However, I was able to have a local key shop make a duplicate (barrel) key, a whole lot less expensive then ordering from dealer.
