When I emailed about this product several months ago i was told you would be able to flash anything that was setup as a brake light. For instance I have their TriBar light and Plasma Rods installed with a "break out" harness where you can tie in other lighting. If the magic Strobe is installed before the "break out" harness then all the LED's on the Brake circuit will strobe.
Love my 2015 SGS but I have had multiple people I ride with tell me with just the stock lighting in bright sunlight especially I am not very visible. My wife on her Heritage Softail Classic with a Magic Strobe is almost obnoxiously visible. My visibility has gotten better after adding the plasma rods in the filler and the LED in the AirWing rack both wired into the break circuit. Still want the Magic Strobe.
Well don't just suck azz! I ordered the LED Tribar, and sure wanted the flasher. I have the complete kit on my Dyna, ONLY way to ride in my opinion! I know chit happens, but you just cant have a enough BRIGHT FLASHING brake lights back there!
Thanks...are the instructions clear enough so we know which harness on the bike to this connects to?? Did you tuck it under the seat or side cover?
Instructions are very clear. Pictures are included. Install is simple. I tucked it under the seat.
BTW, CD called me today and they verified that the CD Tri-bar WILL strobe with the Magic Strobe. The guy who got the other new Magic Strobe has their Tri-bar and said it worked great.
Also I asked about the pricing and they said that they found that it took more components to make this module than the units for other bikes and it was closer to their "Triple Play" and therefore the higher price point.
I got a phone call from Custom Dynamics today. The girl told me that the first two finished products of the Magic Strobes were ready for sale to the public for 14/15 Street Glides. She asked if I was interested in getting the first one and testing it and reporting back to her a week later with my thoughts. I was excited for a minute because I thought I was going to get a freebie for providing my input. Nope... $98.90 later and its on the way. Its way more than I wanted to spend but I got it anyway. Their R&D and manufacturing costs must have been high on these units since the other ones they sell are $59.95 and this one is $89.95
Got mine on order today. They are available and shipping.
I got an email from them saying I can place an order for the magic strobe. the link is limited time. So i jump on it and order one and I also have their led front and rear with the tri-bar. Email said if I order today they should be shipped by mid week (next week). Cant wait to try it out. oh, it was 89.00 plus shipping.
got call yesterday (I was on list) shipping Wednesday next week, She confirmed any thing hooked up as brake light will flash, in my case, plazma rods, plugz, and tribar (CD one)
To anyone that has the strobe - Does it alter the way the turn signals work? I.e., does the turn signal go from running, to off, to bright, to off, and so on vs the way it is now which is running, somewhat brighter, running, somewhat brighter.
As mentioned earlier, I am very disappointed in Custom Dynamics that they released a product that I feel is dangerous. I've had numerous people tell me that under certain conditions, they can't tell the difference between my running intensity and braking/turning intensity. If this module solves that problem, they should be sold at a highly reduced cost to those that have their lights. They should also be packaged with the new ones that they sell. I get they will need to raise the price, and I would have been willing to pay more for a product that works the way it should.
As such, I'm on the fence about this new strobe. If it works, great. But I'm looking for other solutions before I send them more money to make the lights work right.
Yeah, yeah....I know I'll hear about what a whiner I am. I've been buying CD stuff for all my bikes. I'm a good customer. But if I provided my customers with a product that doesn't perform, I would make it right.
