Default intercom, cb question

Ok, I have a 14 limited and and could swear that before the latest software update when I set the intercom and cb to come through speakers instead of the headset it would do just that but after the update even if its set for speakers I can only hear communication through the headset, am I wrong? If the option is there shouldn't it work, what am I missing? I would like to be able to set the intercom through the speakers for highway speed travel, to hear better, I wear a 1/2 helmet and with the highway speed noise my passenger has to almost yell for me to hear her.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Check the VOX level. Maybe that will help? I notice if it's not turned up enough we have a hard time hearing each other. Go back an update and see if that solves the problem? I have 18.3 if you want to try that.

The intercom never worked via the external speakers, only via headset.

That said, you may have been able to hear the sidetone through the speakers on older versions of the SWDL, but as I understand (still running 1.18.3) the sidetone was removed in 1.19.0 & 1.19.1 versions. Sidetone is the function that allows one to hear what is going in the audio input to the radio system; a monitor if you will.
