Question Worth the trouble?

I checked the Boom! Box (ridiculous name, IMO) software on my '15 Limited and it's 1.19.0. Is it worth having it updated at some point?

I hardly ever even turn the system on, and when I do it seems to work OK - at least with the most basic functions (which are all that I know how to use or have any interest in using).

Is there any real advantage for me in updating it? I don't use, or even own, devices that can be plugged into it like I-phones (is that even a word?) or any other media devices.

Sure, why not. You might want to turn it on one day and you will be up to date already.
I had mine up dated yesterday after almost 2 years and the tech laughed that it was so out of date. It was in for the Bag pin recall so I thought, why not...

I've added every update that has become available. No issues so far. I'll keep adding them as they become available.

If you don't use it, don't bother. If you decide to do it, it only takes a few minutes to do.

I think this will be what I end up doing. If it works, don't fix it!!

You can do the updates yourself, you just down load the update onto an 8 GB thumb drive and plug into the USB cable in the cubby and follow the simple directions and it will update the radio to the latest firmware.

I updated my 2016 Ultra Limited Low as it came with the 1.19.0 firmware and there was an update for the 1.19.1. Took only a few minutes including the down load onto the thumb drive from the Harley web site. It was quick and easy to do.

I still have 1.18.3 on mine. Everything works like its suppose to. No issues likes others have had with updates.

I decided to not mess with success

Running 19.1 no problems. Never had any problems other than operator error on the old updates either.

I'm having a few problems with 1.19.1...turn by turn voice doesn't match lft/rt turn arrow and map itself, lockups come and go, etc...not enough to go back...

I don't think it did much over 1.19.0...
