I always check how much comes out and level before the drain especially if clutch is working good
I always see way less from the initial drain on new bikes drained on a level bike on center jack
The shop manuals on all the years lately say do not over fill or will cause clutch issues and finding neutral
Most HD shops will put 1QT in primary and also 1 in Trans
I never get 4 Qts in motor on any of my bikes all fill at 3.5 QTS.
It means nothing if primary is few ounces lower after all the bike is on the road moving at different tilt angles but sitting and start up with oil on clutches they don't want to separate
Remember on a open belt drive neutral and clutch
operation is golden without oil
I had a put an open belt drive on my Bigdog and I loved the feal of the clutch during operation
This had same disks in it with clearances
from Baker and Bandit techs
My 2cents
38 oz wet (45 oz dry)as per the service manual for a 2011 FLHTK (09 too, those are the two I have manuals for), I've read so many times to put 32 oz, maybe older models I don't know. I measure it out and it makes me wonder if so many compensators go early using 32 oz?
I put 32oz in my 15 CVO RGU the other day, just reached the circle thingie with the bike standing upright on the lift.
Then I would surmise at the change I drained 38 oz out of the primary, while you drained 32 oz. Only conclusion, right? And of course its done standing upright.
